Dr. Peter Van Dingenen
Peter Van Dingenen was born in Bruges, Belgium. He grew up in a christian family as the oldest of five siblings. He studied to become a pediatric nurse in 1991 and married Ineke Stiers in 1992.
They both left to go to Burkina Faso in August 1992 where they worked in a center for the recuperation of malnourished children near Leo with the partner organization CReDO
Mid 1997, after their second daughter was born, Peter was accepted at the Free University of Brussels where he succesfully finished his medical degree in 2005. By that time they had 4 daughters, Liesbeth, Lydia, Jiska and Phebe. Peter added a post-graduate certificat in tropical diseases and public health at the Tropical Institute in Antwerp, Belgium and the family travelled back to Burkina Faso after nine years of studies, send out by Tearfund Belgium.
Together with Jacob Sawadogo and Ismail Ouedraogo, Peter founded Paam Laafi Association in May 2010.
Peter is passionate about reaching out to the poorest and outcasts through Jesus's love. He is visionnary and loves to build, network and equip others to reach their highest potential. His aim is to build a platform for professionals (medical in the first place) to enable them to reach out to those who need it the most. High quality, integrity and empathic care are of major importance to him.
